What he recorded is deeply disturbing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Officers mocking women reporting rape<\/strong>, reducing their accounts to <em>\u201cthat\u2019s what she says\u201d<\/em> while laughing about evidence of assault.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Senior sergeants displaying open misogyny<\/strong>, trivialising sexual harassment and making crude comments about detained women.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A pattern of disbelief and dismissal<\/strong> whenever women or victims of domestic abuse came forward, reinforcing the message survivors know too well: <em>\u201cYou won\u2019t be believed.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A culture of silence<\/strong>, where staff were told to \u201ckeep their mouths shut\u201d to protect colleagues rather than protect victims.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not just \u201cbanter\u201d or \u201ca few bad apples.\u201d It is evidence of a system that minimises violence against women and undermines the safety of those who need protection most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Met has promised reform before\u2014after Sarah Everard\u2019s murder, after Baroness Casey\u2019s damning review, after each new scandal. And yet, this investigation shows that for too many women who come forward, their trauma is still being treated as entertainment, inconvenience, or disbelief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For survivors of domestic abuse, this reality is terrifying. If women cannot trust the very people meant to protect them, where do they turn? Too many are left silenced, unsupported, and at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Contento Social Homes, we stand alongside survivors. We know that disbelief kills\u2014because silence leaves women in danger. We call for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A survivor-centred policing model<\/strong> where women\u2019s voices are taken seriously the first time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Robust accountability<\/strong> so that misogyny, racism, and abuse within the police are not excused as jokes but treated as gross misconduct.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Urgent systemic reform<\/strong>\u2014not just \u201crogue officer\u201d removals, but a cultural reset that prioritises dignity, safety, and justice for women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Every woman survivor deserves a safe home, but she also deserves a safe society.
