While free speech protects diverse opinions, it does <strong>not<\/strong> protect behaviour that harms, intimidates, or silences women and girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital abuse is often disguised as \u201cjust a comment,\u201d yet the impact is real:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It undermines mental wellbeing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It silences women and girls<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It normalises misogyny and hate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It enables wider patterns of digital and offline violence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>True free speech creates space for respectful dialogue \u2014 not spaces where women are targeted, humiliated, or threatened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, we call for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stronger moderation on digital platforms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Zero tolerance for harassment and hate speech<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empowered reporting systems that protect survivors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education that distinguishes opinion from abuse<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communities where respect, safety, and dignity matter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Toxicity is not expression \u2014 it\u2019s violence.
