Today, 25th November 2024, marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This global campaign runs until 10th December, International Human Rights Day. It unites people worldwide to take action against violence towards women and girls, calling for change and support for survivors.
This year’s theme, “Every 11 Minutes, a Woman is Killed. #NoExcuse”, shines a spotlight on the tragic reality faced by countless women. It reminds us why raising awareness and taking action is so important. Gender-based violence affects millions, tearing apart families and communities. Ending this requires collective effort, compassion, and strong commitment.
At Contento Social Homes, our mission aligns closely with the goals of this campaign. We provide safe accommodation and help women survivors rebuild their lives. We know that real change starts with creating safe spaces, offering support, and empowering survivors with the tools they need to thrive.
