This class is not just about learning to cook; it’s a transformative journey towards self-sustenance and independence.
The Power of Culinary Therapy
Cooking is more than just a daily task; it’s a therapeutic process that nurtures both the body and mind. For survivors of domestic abuse, engaging in cooking classes can be incredibly empowering. It’s a way to regain control over one’s life, make healthy choices, and rebuild a sense of normalcy. The act of cooking can boost self-confidence, ignite creativity, and provide a much-needed stress outlet, all crucial for the healing process.
From Surviving to Thriving: A Pathway to Independence
Our cooking classes are designed to equip these courageous women with skills that transcend the kitchen. Learning to cook fosters independence, offering a stepping stone to employment or even the possibility of generating income through culinary ventures. This initiative is part of our ongoing fortnightly programme, which includes Peer Support Sessions, IT Training, and other empowerment sessions, all aimed at assisting survivors in their journey to independence.
