That’s why we’re thrilled to announce a special pizza-baking session on the 28th of March – a delicious opportunity for the incredible women we serve to learn, connect, and grow.
The Power of Practical Skills
For survivors of domestic abuse, rebuilding a life can feel overwhelming. The isolation and control often inherent in abusive relationships can erode self-confidence and diminish a sense of capability. Skills-share sessions like our pizza-baking event offer a vital counterbalance. Learning everyday tasks like cooking can:
- Build confidence: Mastering a new recipe, even a fun and simple one, creates a sense of accomplishment and reminds survivors of their strength.
- Promote independence: Practical skills foster a feeling of self-reliance, a crucial step toward achieving a fulfilling, independent life.
- Spark creativity and joy: Focusing on something positive, like the creation of a delicious meal, offers a much-needed respite and the chance to simply have fun.

We offer a warm and supportive environment, including peer support groups, IT training, CV writing workshops, job search assistance, and other vital resources. It’s a community where survivors find strength in each other and build the tools they need to thrive.
