Event Organiser – Survivor Engagement

About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, organised and proactive Event Organiser – Survivor Engagement to plan and deliver survivor-focused events that promote engagement, wellbeing and participation. This is an important community-based role for someone who can coordinate activities with care, professionalism and sensitivity.
The successful candidate will be responsible for organising venues, supporting attendance, maintaining accurate records, gathering feedback and producing post-event reports in line with organisational objectives. You will work closely with colleagues, support workers and external partners to ensure events are safe, accessible and meaningful for survivors.
Job Purpose
To plan, coordinate and deliver survivor-focused events that promote engagement, wellbeing and participation. The postholder will be responsible for venue booking, liaising with support workers, encouraging survivor attendance, maintaining accurate records, collecting feedback, and producing post-event reports in line with organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organise events in accordance with agreed objectives and timelines.
- Identify and book suitable venues, ensuring accessibility, confidentiality, and compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Liaise with support workers to coordinate attendance and ensure appropriate support arrangements are in place.
- Conduct authorised visits, where appropriate, to encourage survivors to attend events and provide clear information about participation.
- Prepare and maintain accurate attendance registers for all events.
- Draft and distribute feedback forms and support survivors to complete them where required.
- Collect, review, and securely store feedback in line with data protection requirements.
- Produce a structured report following each event, including attendance figures, feedback summary, observations, and recommendations.
- Submit reports to the Manager within agreed deadlines.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners where required.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in organising events or community-based activities.
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals or survivor groups.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general administrative systems.
Desirable Criteria
- Training in safeguarding.
- Experience within housing, support services, or community engagement settings.
- First Aid certification.
