Digital abuse thrives in environments where harassment, misogyny, trolling, and threats go unchallenged. Many women and girls hesitate to speak up due to fear of retaliation, shame, or being dismissed. But when individuals and communities raise their voices, harmful behaviour loses its power.
Calling it out does not always mean confrontation — it can also mean reporting an account, supporting a survivor, sharing educational resources, correcting misinformation, or creating safer online spaces through positive behaviour.
Strength is not in silence.
Strength is in action.
Today, we encourage everyone to:
- Speak up when they witness harmful behaviour
- Support women and girls who experience online abuse
- Challenge harmful norms that normalise digital violence
- Promote safer, more respectful digital environments
